Principal's Report
Today marks the end of Term 3. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff, students and our wider school community for another successful Term in our direction towards a Better & Brighter Berserker. I would like to wish our school community a safe and relaxing holiday period and I encourage everybody to recharge ready for Term 4. Families are reminded that Term 4 will resume on Tuesday 7th October.
I will be taking an extended holiday with long service leave during the first week of Term 4 and I will return on Monday 13th October in Week 2. During my absence Mr Les Berryman our Acting Deputy Principal will backfill my position. I look forward to reconnecting with everybody on my return.
2026 Prep Enrolment & Transition
Our enrolment process for Prep 2026 has begun. We would like to welcome any children who were born between the 1st July, 2020 to 30th June, 2021. If your child was born in this time, they are required to start Prep next year.
In Queensland, Prep is a compulsory year of schooling and will provide the foundation for your child’s education. It is important that we enrol students for Prep 2026 as early as possible, as this will enable us to plan for next year. There will be a series of transition sessions planned for our new students, these will include important information for starting school and will also play an important role in preparing your child for Prep.
These transition sessions will be held on:
- 29th October (9am-10am)
- 5th November (9am-10am)
- 12th November (9am-10am)
- 19th November (9am-10am)
If you have a child who is starting Prep in 2026, please contact the office on 4999 0333 for an enrolment pack and we will be in touch to book an enrolment interview. Alternatively, please call the office to book.
2026 Prep enrolments completed by Wednesday 19th November will be eligible for a free uniform pack inclusive of a school shirt and hat valued at $50.

North Rockhampton State High School Transition
The transition program is designed to support students in beginning their high school journey next year. Wednesday 15th October (Term 4 Week 2) will be the first entire transition day for all students transitioning to NRSHS.
Some Yr 6 students are currently participating in an extended transition program at North Rockhampton State High School. The program will run every Thursday for 3 more weeks on the dates listed below. Each session will begin at 9:00am and conclude at 11:10am, after which students will return to Berserker Street SS.
Extended Transition Program Dates:
Thursday 18th September;
Thursday 9th October;
Thursday 16th October;
Thursday 23rd October.
Parent/Teacher interviews
Our parent/teacher interview process has now concluded for Semester 2. I am extremely grateful to all our parents who came along and connected with their child’s teacher to celebrate success and address concerns. Your engagement and connection with our school regarding your child’s learning is a significant factor.
Outside School Hours Care – Important update
After The Bell Australia will be providing Before School Care (based at Berserker Street SS), After School Care (based at Berserker Street SS) and Vacation Care (based at Glenmore SS) to the school community.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, it is anticipated that the commencement date of their service will be Term 4 on the 13th of October 2025 (Term 4 - Week 2).

To assist families during the transition period, in Week 1 of Term 4 (7th October -10th October) we will be providing before and after school supervision of families impacted by unavailability of OSHC during the transition period.
A member of our school leadership team will supervise children of families who rely on OSHC at the library from 7am-8:15am and in the Diverse Learning Hub from 2:45pm-5pm. Families will be required to sign students in and out each day.
Thank you for ensuring you provide additional food for your child for breakfast/afternoon tea during this week.

Swimming
Swimming lessons will be held in Term 4 with our Prep and Year 2 cohorts participating in our swimming program. Notes have been sent home this week with students and lessons will commence in Week 3 of Term 4 and be held over 6 weeks.
Friday afternoon Sport – Season C
In Term 4, Berserker Year & 6 students can participate in Season C with Basketball and touch football occurring as an inter-school option. School based will participate in cricket activities held at school. Paperwork and payment need to be returned after the holiday period.
School Holiday Dates:
The last day of Term 3 is Friday 19th September. Term 4 will commence on Tuesday 7th October. There will be a public holiday on Monday 6th October.

P&C meeting
Next P&C meeting will be held in Term 4 Week 2 Tuesday 14th October at 6pm in the Diverse learning Hub adjacent from the administration building. All welcome! Come along and discuss the final steps to prepare for our Term 4 Better & brighter Carnival.
